‘Worst A-League debut’ for Ahn Hyun-beom as he fumbles under pressure and misses marker

Ahn Hyun-beom, a top-flight fullback for Jeju United in the K League, had a grueling A-match debut. The pressure was understandable, but an early mistake proved fatal.

Jürgen Klinsmann’s South Korea national soccer team lost 0-1 at home to Peru in their June A match trial at the Busan Asiad Stadium at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

With Kim Moon-hwan (Jeonbuk Hyundai) and Kim Tae-hwan (Ulsan Hyundai), who have always been responsible for the national team’s right flank defense, missing the June call-up due to injuries and poor form, Ahn Hyun-beom, who has been performing well for Jeju United, was called up to the A team for the first time at the age of 28. He was expected to make his A-match debut against Peru.

However, Korea’s defense, which was missing key players such as Kim Jin-soo, Kim Young-kwon, Kim Min-jae, Kim Moon-hwan, and Kim Tae-hwan, and formed a back four of Lee Ki-je, Park Ji-soo, Jung Seung-hyun, and Ahn Hyun-beom, was shaky from the start. Ahn’s mistakes were the most prominent.

In the fifth minute, South Korean right fullback Ahn Hyun-bum spilled the ball under pressure from Peruvian Brian Reina on the right flank of the Korean penalty area. The ball was picked up by Paolo Guerrero on the left side of the Korean penalty box and he unleashed a right-footed curling shot into the top right corner of the goal, but Kim Seung-gyu leapt to his feet to make the save.

South Korea eventually conceded in the 11th minute. Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero exchanged passes with a teammate in front of the South Korean penalty box before slipping a pass to Brian Reina on the left side of the box. Reina placed a left-footed shot into the top right corner of the Korean goal to give Peru a 1-0 lead.

Ahn Hyun-beom abandoned his marker, Reina, and narrowed to the center in an attempt to stop Guerrero, but the defense failed, leaving Reina unmarked and free to score with ease. In the end, South Korea was unable to make up for the first half deficit and lost 0-1.

Ahn Hyun-beom settled down after the goal and didn’t repeat his big mistake from the first half. However, due to the nerves of his A-match debut, the quick and aggressive overlapping that is usually his strength in the K League was not easily seen. 먹튀검증

Of course, it’s not easy to perfect the play you’ve shown in the league in your A-Match debut, as there’s bound to be pressure. However, Ahn Hyun-beom made too many crucial mistakes in the beginning of the game and had one of the worst A-match debuts.
