The end is in sight…Qataris to finalize Man Utd deal today (5/5) to seal the deal

After nearly nine long months, the Manchester United takeover saga is finally coming to a close.

British media outlet The Sun reported on Friday that United’s takeover saga will come to an end today, with Sheikh Jassim set to replace Glazer at the helm of the club.

“Jassim’s offer will be accepted. All the relevant documents will be signed by Mr. Glazer in the coming hours,” the report said, adding that “Jassim’s people are already expressing confidence in the upcoming victory.”

“An announcement could be made later in the day. It will mark the end of the Man Utd takeover saga.”

Nine months into the saga, which began in November last year, the club is nearing an end. After the Glazers announced the sale of the club, Sheikh Jassim, chairman of Qatar Islamic Bank, and Jim Ratcliffe, chairman of Innosys Group, entered the fray.

Jassim wanted to buy 100% of the club and cancel all debt, while Innosys Group wanted to buy 69% of the club and retain a minority stake in the Glazers.

The Qatari offer was more appealing to the fans, while the Glazers would retain a minority stake.

Furthermore, reports emerged that the absolute value of the offer was the same as the Qatari offer, despite the fact that the latter was not a 100% stake acquisition, which seemed to favor the former. 안전놀이터

In the end, however, the Glazers finally accepted the Qataris’ final offer of £5 billion (approximately $8.2518 billion), bringing the saga to a close.

The lack of closure has prevented United from being active in the summer transfer market ahead of the 2023/24 season. In addition to missing out on Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Rasmus Højlund (Atalanta) was also rejected in the first round of bids.

Mason Mount (Chelsea) is on the verge of joining the club and is expected to announce his arrival once the United saga is over.
