Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is looking to sign a striker and a winger at the same time.
“PSG want to bring Gonzalo Higuain and Ousmane Dembele at the same time,” European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media on Wednesday. The plan is to sign both players by the end of the week.”
PSG first targeted Dembele as a winger. Santi Auna of France’s Foot Mercato wrote on social media on Monday, “Dembele was a priority for PSG coach Luis Enrique. PSG are close to signing Dembele to a five-year contract. PSG intends to trigger his buyout clause of €50 million. If nothing changes, his medical will take place in Los Angeles, USA.”
Dembele joined Barcelona in 2017 for a transfer fee of €140 million. Much was expected of him at Borussia Dortmund, where he showed off his explosive dribbling ability and personal skills.
However, his career was marred by frequent injuries. Dembele was so injury-plagued that he never played a full season in five seasons, and the home fans booed him for failing to make an impact after paying a huge transfer fee for him. However, Dembele came on strong in the second half of the 2021-22 season, leading the league in assists.
His run was short-lived, however, as he lost his starting spot in 2022-23 to new signing Hafinha. He came on strong at the end of the season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 25 games in La Liga last season, but he has yet to fully live up to his price tag and expectations. Now, PSG boss Enrique has made signing Dembele a top priority. 메이저놀이터
But PSG’s recruitment policy doesn’t stop there. Along with Dembele, PSG are also looking to sign Benfica’s Hamus for a frontline striker. After scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists for Benfica last season, Hammers was also in fine form at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, notably scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland in the round of 16.
He was once a target of Manchester United, but now he’s moving closer to PSG. “Details will be sorted out in the coming days and a medical is imminent,” Romano said. Along with Dembele, Hammou’s move to PSG is imminent.
