Gwangju came from behind to win 2-1 at home against Suwon Samsung in the 17th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2023 on Sunday at Gwangju Stadium thanks to a multi-goal performance from Thomas.
It was the first three-game winning streak of the season. With three points, Gwangju moved up one spot from seventh to sixth place (24-24 goals). They are tied on points with Jeonbuk Hyundai (W 24-20) and eighth-place Daegu FC (W 24-19), but have a superior goal difference.
Last-place Suwon, on the other hand, failed to capitalize on an early goal and fell to their fourth straight defeat.
The first goal belonged to Suwon. In the 40th minute, Ahn Byung-joon received a pass from Lee Sang-joon and split the Gwangju goal with a left-footed shot.
