Ace nervous to pitch closer in bases-loaded jam, jubilant to clinch series… I’m so happy for the win

In the top of the ninth inning with a 4-0 lead, NC Eric Peddie, who was nervously watching the closers’ pitches with runners on second and third base, jubilantly celebrated as the win was confirmed.

The NC Dinos won 4-0 against the KIA on April 27 at Changwon NC Park. Starting pitcher Pedi led the team to victory with a Quality Start Plus (7+ innings pitched, 3 earned runs or less).

Against KIA starter Yang Hyun-jong, NC’s bats exploded early in the game.
With the score tied at 0-0 in the bottom of the second inning, Kwon Hee-dong led off with a walk and a 1B 1S count, pulling Yang’s three-pitch, low 125-kilometer slider over the left field fence for a leadoff single.

After Yoon Hyung-joon doubled and Do Tae-hoon walked to load the bases, Park Se-hyuk singled and Kim Han-byul singled to center, and Son Ah-seob lined a two-run single to right to make it 3-0. NC added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning when Do Tae-hoon singled and then scored on Kim Han-byul’s RBI single after back-to-back walks to make it 4-0.

Pedi, the league’s top ace, leads the league in wins with 13 and ERA with 12 in the first half alone. 메이저놀이터

Taking the mound to face the ‘Big Pitcher’ Yang Hyun-jong, Pedi started the game with a 90-degree salute to the umpire.

Pedi faced 26 batters over seven innings, giving up five hits, striking out four and walking none. He threw 96 pitches. He threw a mix of pitches (37), curveballs (29), changeups (15) and cutters (15) that topped out at 154 mph to keep the KIA bats quiet.

Pedi, who held the KIA bats scoreless after exploding for 13 runs in the previous game, watched the game with his teammates in the dugout after pitching.

In the ninth inning, when closer Lee Yong-chan took the mound after Ryu Jin-wook and Kim Young-gyu, KIA had runners on second and third. A hit would have brought them within two runs.
